Founder & CEO-

Lynelle DeRoo, RDH

Managing Director-

Cohen Kerrario

Coordinate Director & Concierge-

Sarah Chebet Pkyach

Lead Dentist-

Farooq Sorathia, DDS

Mr. Kerrario oversees many of the Kenya projects we have, managing the logistics and contacts to make sure everything comes together and they run smoothly. He is our "right-hand man" with a multitude of contacts and diverse knowledge and skills. He will soon be a graduate of UEAB with a BSc. degree in electrical technology. Cohen speaks English fluently and Swahili, his mother tongue. He has been assisting Lynelle in developing her mission from her first day at the dental clinic in April of 2022 when she came to conduct a research study. Cohen is dedicated and integral part of BFL INTERNATIONAL, and has proven himself to be a valuable asset. We are thankful to God for sending him to us from day one.

Miss Pkyach is a skilled, intelligent, detailed young lady with a BSc. in biostatistics from Jomo Kenyatta University, Kenya. She won the crown and global title as Miss Tourism International in an international pageant that took place in the Philippines in 2018. She skillfully manages much of the arrangements for our volunteers on the Kenya side before we all arrive, handling hotel, flight, and coordinating the comfort side of things for our guests. In talking with her, you will soon see why she won the crown (wink).   She speaks five languages fluently, and is our floor manager during our dental camps in Kenya. Sarah joined us in March of 2024. Sarah's finnese is unmatched and her help is deeply valued.

Dr. Sorathia has been with us from our first clinic, working along side of us at every single one of them since September of 2022. He has his undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and his Doctorate of Dental Science from University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. Besides providing dental treatment at each clinic, Farooq advises us on materials, supplies, and dental equipment on the Kenya-side, helping us to coordinate all these before we arrive. He is a fourth generation Kenyan, speaking English and Swahili. Farooq's expertise and heart of gold is greatly appreciated. Like our other team members, he is honest, kind, generous, and very, very likeable! We couldn't do this without you, Farooq.

Lynelle DeRoo, founder and CEO of BFL INTERNATIONAL, is a graduate of Loma Linda University with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene. She is a Master’s candidate in Global Health at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. Lynelle is an international speaker, author, clinician, philanthropist and inventor. Lead Hygienist, Kenya Division-

Joab Anette, RDH

Mr. Joab Anette is one of just 100 hygienists in Kenya. There is no organization for them, and finding several to help during a dental camp has been challenging, especially needful when not enough Americans volunteer to help.

Joab has done a wonderful job of locating several to join our efforts. He organizes the tranport of our RDH Kenya team from Nairobi to the camp location.  Joab graduated from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan with an associate degree in dental hygiene. He works in Nairobi, Kenya, and has been with us since October of 2023. Joab speaks English, Kiswahili, Luo, and Luhya. He has a willing, helpful, and kind disposition, and I am proud to call him colleague and friend.
