Umbrellas
You will have the help of local people during our dental camp. If you give money to one, you will be asked by many others for the same.
It is best to give a gift. These umbrellas are a good choice. People there cannot afford them, and they simply just get wet if it rains.
It rains alot.
What is REALLY needed:
You can help to provide preventative treatment and education for a rural area of west Kenya. These young people were sponsored by a hospital in Kenya to get their education in Pakistan, and have returned to work off their sponsorship. They earn about $500 USD/month, after taxes. The total cost to them for a week at dental camp is $400 USD each.
Total lodging + meals (Thus- Tues) = 106.30 pp
Travel (bus) = $40 USD
Meals en-route (total, 2 ways) = $12
Lost income (pre-taxes) = $160 USD
Headlamp = $10
Peizo hand piece = $20
Thank you gifts = $52* USD
Total =400 USD
Each hygienist will be able to see approximately 11 patients a day, or 30-33 total, during the dental camp. These are just four of the 5 who can come if sponsored.

° Truck for Mobile Clinic
(purchaseable in Kenya)
Approximately $35,000 USD...plus a 100% tax! So, $70,000 USD.
After purchasing, we want to have it branded for ease in crossing borders.
° Compressor, 20 gallon (x 2)
(purchaseable in Kenya)
Total: Approximately $450 (each), $900 -- price includes 16% VAT (sales tax) and 2.9% exchange fee (USD->KES). Does not include shipping.
One compressor is not quite enough if we have 8 operators. Plus, a larger, heavier on cannot be moved. A smaller one can be put on wheels and relocated as necessary.
